The museum recently opened in the former home of George Curry, the Territorial Governor of New Mexico from 1907-1910. Curry purchased the house in 1941 and resided there until 1947. During that time, he wrote his autobiography, which was published in 1947. He passed away later that year.

The building is one of Kingston’s early adobe homes. Exhibits include many artifacts, documents and photos from Kingston’s early days, as well as rare historical items can only be seen here.

The new facility houses a research center where one can find information on mining, western history, Native American history, and early Kingston residents, their businesses, and their social activity.
